Cameron Barclay
Golf Performance Coach
Cameron began his coaching journey in strength and conditioning after graduating
Mohawk College’s Health, Wellness and Fitness program. In 2014, Cameron started as
a Sport Conditioning Coach with Twist Sport Conditioning in Burlington, Ontario. In this
role, Cameron developed and delivered in season and off season, off-ice strength
training programs to hockey athletes aged 9-17. While at Twist, Cameron also built and
instructed comprehensive training programs for athletes in other sports including golf,
baseball and soccer in 1 on 1, semi private and team training environments.
Cameron moved on to Shield Athletics and Sports Medicine in 2016, as a high
performance coach. In this role, Cameron developed and coached off ice training
programs to professional hockey players in their off-season from leagues such as the
NHL, AHL, ECHL, PWHL as well as European leagues. Cameron was also responsible
for the long-term athletic development of junior players from across the Canadian
Hockey League as well as collegiate athletes in the NCAA and Usports.
Cameron also held the role as physiotherapy assistant at Shield, working with a medical
team of physiotherapists, athletic therapists, massage therapists, and chiropractors.
Cameron executed individualized rehabilitative exercise programs of care for clients
who had a current or pre-existing injury preventing them from starting or participating in
their sport or exercise program.
Growing up Cameron played elite level soccer in Scotland, England, Germany and the
USA. He also played hockey and golf and continues to play both in his spare time.
